Update of 6-16-2005:
We got home from NY last night. Ryan had bone marrow biopsies and an MIBG (bone) scan done Monday and yesterday respectively. This morning Ryan's doctor in NY called with the results of his bone scan. Are you ready for this??? Are you sitting down??? Drum roll please...... His scan shows "near complete resolution" of those spots on his bones that have been so resistent to all the other treatments he's received!!!!!! The antibody therapy is working!!!!!!!! We're not all the way there yet, but we're at the 1-yard line!!!! I'm so excited I have to keep reminding myself to breathe. This is the best news we've had in a looooooong time. This treatment has been so difficult but now we can say it's all been worth it. He will continue to receive more antibody treatment. We head back 4th of July weekend. He will also still receive localized radiation to those same spots - probably after the next round of antibodies. They feel it's a good idea since those areas were so resistent.
WE ARE SO VERY THANKFUL TO EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS.GOD BLESS YOU. Love, Norma |
